X Games in the 90's and early 2000's was every kid's first foray into action sports. We waited all year to spend the week in front of the TV and watch all our favorites. When the opportunity came to be involved with X Games Real Moto - it was a dream come true.
Working with Ricky Carmichael was a no-brainer - we decided early on that I was going to build a track to test his limits. It took me a month of nonstop hours on the bulldozer and hand tools. RC always loved the sand, so why not build a course full of supercross and freeride features built out of the silty shit.
Filming was stressful to say the least - we started the project with the tree-tap shot. RC aced it first go then broke his ribs screwing around on the next jump (off camera of course).
After a few weeks off the bike and a few weeks behind schedule, we were back. Everything else went to plan and we finished the shoot just in time. It was so fun to be young and dumb and put all my time in for months into this project. To this day, no project has been this stressful. Working with RC as he hit 150ft + jumps over and over at 40 years old out in the middle of the woods was something I will never forget. RC is a true champ.

We won the fan vote and 3rd in the judging - thanks to everyone who watched. Thanks to Sean Leader for the photos and help with the build.
